CASSIE NORDGREN

Cassie is thrilled to be sharing her work with the BC Beat family for the first time! Cassie was the SDCF Observer for Josh Bergasse for the 2014 Broadway revival of On The Town, and was recently featured in an interview with Dance Informa magazine about her experience with the Observership program. Also in New York, Cassie frequently assists choreographer Al Blackstone and has worked with Al on pieces for Pushing Progress, The Gratitude Project, the "Only Make Believe" Gala, and on pieces for various BC/EFA events. Cassie co-choreographed the feature film Waiting in the Wings, The Musical, in which she had the pleasure of choreographing a tap number featuring Academy Award Winner, Shirley Jones. Cassie's work will also be featured in the movie's newly announced sequel, "Still Waiting," set to film in December of 2015. A California native, Cassie maintains an ongoing presence on the west coast and will be returning to direct and choreograph the Miss California Pageant for the fifth year this summer. Besides developing new work, Cassie has a passion for teaching. She is currently teaching at Peridance Capezio Center, the Dance Project of Washington Heights, and is a guest teacher and choreographer for dance studios throughout the United States. www.cassienordgren.com
