STEPHEN BROTEBECK

Stephen is an NYC based director and choreographer who has worked on Broadway, Off-Broadway and around the country. In New York, Stephen’s work as a director and choreographer has been seen in productions of Breaking the Shakespeare Code (FringeNYC), The Space Behind Your Heart (VOICETheatre), Greasemonkey (Robert Moss Theatre), Songs In The Key of Equality, Brotography and with Chris Wade, HoLiDaZe (SoHo Playhouse), Scenes from a Balcony, and Anonymous Lives. His Broadway and Off-Broadway credits include Peter and the Starcatcher (Movement Associate) and Ghost, The Musical, directed by Matthew Warchus. Regionally, Stephen has directed and choreographed Color Blind, Breaking the Shakespeare Code (Greenhouse Theatre), And The World Goes ‘Round, I Love A Piano (Farmers Alley Theatre- Wilde Award Nomination), Kiss Me, Kate, Grey Gardens, Altar Boyz and Steel Magnolias. Other credits include Enchanted April (Co-Director and Choreographer) at Arena Stage, Stardust Road (Assistant Director) and The Great American Songbook Hall of Fame ceremony presented by Michael Feinstein (Director/Choreographer). In addition, Stephen had the pleasure to work as Marcia Milgrom Dodge’s associate on My Fair Lady, Children of Eden and Camelot (Associate Director/Choreographer) at The Kennedy Center.

His theatrical choreography credits include regional productions of All Shook Up, How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying, State Fair, Anything Goes, South Pacific, and Honk. Stephen holds an MFA in Directing for the Musical Theatre Stage from The Pennsylvania State University headed by Susan H. Schulman and is a co-founder and the Artistic Director of Broadway Bodies in New York City.
